March 22 - National Goof Off Day

This holiday was created by a girl who heard her grandfather on the radio station asking people to call in with ideas.  She disguised her voice and called in with NATIONAL GOOF OFF DAY.  Everyone got a kick out of it, but it hit the papers.  Because GUESS WHAT? Everyone needs goof off days.  Working too hard for too long makes you LESS productive and there it has been proven by many medical sources (and my lazy self) that one is generally MUCH more productive at home.  No, really.  For example, Dr. John Perry, author of "The Art of Procrastination" explains a good method for leveraging your laziness.  He says that they key is to make more commitments, but be methodical about it.  At the top of your list put the most daunting tasks and down later on the list put the tasks that really matters.  Doing these things becomes a way of NOT doing the things higher up on the list!  This makes SENSE to me!  I have been doing this with my Any.Do app for months.  And it is amazing how much I am now getting done.

So, go on vacation more, people.  Take more naps like Einstein did.  And hang out with friends.  Goof off a little.  With a positive perspective on the outcome, that is not lazy at all.  It's downright productive!
